At IMT we manufacture Crane duty gearboxes are primarily responsible to a major extent for the performance reliability. The gear units use hardened, profile-ground helical gears immersed completely in oil. The housing could be made either of steel or graded cast iron. These gearboxes are designed to have long service life without any special maintenance. All gearboxes conform to international quality standards. The weight/power ratio is increased by the use of case hardened low carbon alloy steels. The gear reduction efficiency obtained is over 99% per reduction. Computer aided design is adopted for obtaining compact and robust gearboxes with required factor of safety.

The automatic cooling beds can be categorized in four major types. The first is simple manual handled cooling bed with 'W' channel which has stationary platform and run out of table. The second is automatic "rake type cooling bed", which transfer the material by one pitch for every rake movement. This type of cooling bed is provided with twin channel bar delivery system, where the bed is provided with bar aligning arrangement. The third is simple rope skid and chain skid type cooling beds for sections. The fourth one is turnover cooling bed, which rotates by one revolutions every time the rake moves by a pitch. All these cooling beds have superior straightness and improvised metallurgical properties.
